Spark Racing Technologies is now the manufacturer supplier of the series after becoming the winner of the last year's tender. The owner is the former Renault F1 team principal Frederic Vasseur. And Formula E cars seem to be in the cards.
FIA will be the one responsible for creating and developing new Formula E cars. The first models are supposed to be launched these months.

SRT was the one providing the first 42 first-generation Formula E cars in 2014 and now it will work closely with technical partner Dallara and they will create the design of the chassis, dubbed SRT-05.

We have to keep in mind that these are just renderings and until the real models get here, a lot can change.

The new chassis will be equipped with a better aero design and it will also be 88 lb (40 kg lighter. Losing weight is essential, as the battery offered by McLaren Applied Technologies is heavier than the battery they have now.

If we look attentively at the pictures released by Spark, we may notice that most of them are aggressive and they have also got an extended windscreen.
The new car created especially for Formula E has almost double energy and the battery has improved the figures from 28 kW/h to 54 kW/h. This extra efficiency of aerodynamics is created for the eradication of car-change pitstops and increasing the running time to 45 minutes.
You will be able to find more details regarding the design for season five at the Formula E Teams meeting at Buenos Aires which will happen next weekend.
