The V10 Supercar Lamborghini Huracan STJ Takes Flight

Just around the corner, Lamborghini will unveil its brand new hybrid supercar. Thus, the manufacturer intends to bid farewell to the V10 Huracan in grand fashion. This Huracan, officially known as the STJ (Super Trofeo Jota), is one of only ten of its kind. It's an upgrade over the rear-wheel-drive STO (Super Trofeo Omologato), which was designed for the track.

While the STJ keeps most of the STO's lightweight design and unique motorsport-style dorsal fin, the STJ's aerodynamic package received an upgrade from the engineers at Lamborghini Squadra Corse, who added two carbon canards to the front bumper and increased the angle of the double-deck rear wing by three degrees.

According to Lamborghini, the upgrades increase downforce by 10% and make the increased stiction even better with modifications hidden beneath the four fenders. Lamborghini claims that the new four-way adjustable racing-derived dampers allow for more steering accuracy with a softer spring and that they replace the active shocks of the STO. At high and low frequencies, the driver can now manually control the rebound and bump.

The naturally-aspirated V10 engine from the STO produces 631 horsepower, which is identical to the power output from a standard Huracan LP640-4, and the 20-inch center-lock forged alloy wheels don't seem to have altered either. But Lamborghini says that the STO's time around the handling circuit at the NARDO test track in southern Italy was decreased by a second because of new Bridgestone Potenza tires and aero and damper modifications. Lamborghini's engineers may lock down the mechanical specs, but the design team has developed two options.

One has a combination of Grigio Telesto's (gray) bodywork and Nero Noctis (black) roof, along with Rosso Mars and Bianco Isi's detailing. Choose the second option, which is a combination of blue Blu Eliadi bodywork, black Nero Noctis roof, red Rosso Mars accents, and white Bianco Isi detailing. On the passenger side, purchasers have the option of getting a personalized plate completed to their specifications, and each STJ also comes with a numbered plaque.
