The Russians are dreaming of being in the Top 5 teams in Formula 1!

The Russians have big plans to conquer the world of sports cars. Recently, they have said they would like the Automobiles of the Russian Federation to have a national team to participate in Formula 1 Championship and to be one of the top five best teams in the world!

The statement was made by Igor Ermilin adviser in the Kremlin to President Vladimir Putin and quoted by Russia Today.

"In today's situation, I see no problem to form a Russian team in Formula 1, which have the potential to enter the top five of the best racing teams in the world. With our technology, especially in the field of space and military aircraft, with smart and talented people, but also with the presence of large Russian companies, which may provide funding, we can show the world our achievements" highlighted Ermilin.

The Russian official added: "We must think about Formula 1 racing to show not only entertaining but also as a way to attract tourists, we must show the world that Russia is an advanced technical power. In this area, we can be strong. The more we are able to work in an emergency mode, and stress, it is not uncommon for a big world of motorsport. That's our mentality. In the 1970s, the ideas developed and before many times we were in "Formula 1", - added Ermilin.

Recall that the first team "Formula 1" in Russia was Midland, who spent only one season in 2006. Subsequently, they have taken the chance four years later - Marussia Motors. The latter team participated in the "royal racing" during the years 2007-2014.
