The prototype of the new BMW 5 Series has been spied again!

BMW and Mercedes Benz fought side by side in launching new models.

So the two rivals very soon will have us enjoy two new premium-class sedans. Now we talk about the BMW prototype to fully test the new 5 Series.

The new fives will benefit from a good part of modern technologies seen on the big brother BMW 7 Series but promise to bring something absolutely unique.

Although the spicy details are kept secret, something has been made public. The future BMW 5 Series will be lighter by up to 30 kilos thanks to the materials used like aluminum alloys or carbon fiber. The engine range will include new units, which in addition to increased performance, can guarantee lower fuel consumption. As the smaller of them is considered to be the 2.0 liters four-cylinder. However, they considered the possibility of equipping the new three-cylinder sedans with engines of 1.5 liters.

M550d version could be equipped with the new 3.0-liter diesel engine equipped with four turbochargers, where the number of horsepowers could even reach 400! In the M5, it will most likely keep the 4.4-liter V8 unit, only standard they already will be able to deliver 600 hp and 800 Nm of torque minimum.
