The project BMW X2 got the green light!

The Bavarian company management has announced, quoted by Autocar colleagues. According to the British, BMW plans to launch the first experimental prototypes by the end of June 2015.
Following the recipe of the BMW X6 and BMW X4, we see that the new BMW X2 crossover will adopt the same look with a curved ceiling to the rear, mimicking the silhouette of a sports coupe. Inevitably, launching a new model in the segment SAC's, it will trigger a reaction from its competitors, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.
Most likely the new BMW X2 will debut on the market no sooner than in 2017, completing the range X of the Bavarians, what's missing is the X7. As for the latter already we know that the foundations were laid for a prototype auto spies managed to identify first-car test which will simulate the behavior of X7.
Turning to the BMW X2 we can assume that it will be built on the same platform with X1, Series 2 Tourer, and MINI, known as UKL. And here we know what follows, small-displacement engines placed transversely, front-wheel drive and also all-wheel-drive system xDrive optional offered transmission the six- and eight speeds.
