This Pininfarina Battista Reversario Is A Symphony Of Opposites

A wealthy client who purchased one of the five limited-edition Pininfarina Battista Anniversario models recently ordered a Reversario, the polar opposite of the fifth edition, from the designers at Automobili Pininfarina. Limited to only five units, the Pininfarina Battista Anniversario made its premiere in 2020 to commemorate the company's 90th anniversary.

It had a distinctive livery. In order to make an exact replica, the Battista Reversario inverts the original's colors. Grigio Antonelliano shine covers the top portion, while Bianco Sestiere gloss covers the main bodywork and five-spoke wheels.

Identical details surround the bodywork, and an Iconica Blu stripe emphasizes the two-tone finish, much like the original. On the carbon side wings, you can see Reversario writing, and on the bottom of the active rear spoiler, you can see a special insignia. In contrast to the black-themed Anniversario, the Reversario's interior has white alcantara and leather upholstery.

Perforation, seatbelts, and other fittings are Iconica Blu; in the space between the seats, the Reversario insignia reappears. Black leather with Iconica Blu edging and a white Alcantara quilt crowned a three-piece luggage set that Pininfarina designed. The set included a briefcase, a weekend holdall, and a suit bag. As far as performance is concerned, nothing has changed.

Drawn from a 120-kWh battery pack, the four electric motors provide a total of 1,877 horsepower and 1,726 lb-ft of torque. Electronically restricted at 217 mph, the ordinary Battista takes 1.86 seconds to get from 0 to 62 mph and 4.75 seconds to go from 0 to 124 mph.

The owners said: “The twins are complete and total perfection that has never been achieved by the automotive world. Not only do they have a legacy and pedigree where they bear the name and indelible mark of the world’s greatest car designer, but they also complement each other as mirror images. The twins are and forever will be associated with love perfected. The twins can never be separated because they are truly unified in design.”

Even though the owner probably got a deal on their second Battista, nobody knows how much the Reversario cost. If the Anniversario starts at €2.6 million ($2.8 million), then the two-car garage in the photo should be worth more than €5.2 million ($5.6 million).

Automobili Pininfarina's describes the Reversario as a "bespoke vehicle that will never be repeated." However, the design team is still open to collaborating with prospective customers on equally distinctive creations.
