Oletha Coupe Is A BMW Z8 Twin Producing Over 450 HP

Say welcome to the Oletha, an automobile created by Smit Vehicle Engineering that is effectively the BMW Z8 Coupe, a retro-styled sports car that pays homage to the legendary 507 but was only ever manufactured as a roadster.

It's described as "our love letter to the BMW of our childhoods" by the car start-up. Unique kidney grilles, retro-inspired headlamps, and a power dome on the bonnet characterize the Oletha Coupe's front.

The Oletha Coupe is driven by a naturally aspirated 4.4-liter S65B44 V8 utilized in the E90 M3 CRT and E92 M3 GTS that has been modified to generate over 450-hp, as opposed to the original BMW Z8's 4.9-liter naturally aspirated S62 V8 from the E39 M5.

Smit Vehicle Engineering claims to have installed a carbon fiber intake manifold and a custom stainless steel and Inconel exhaust system. A six-speed manual gearbox is mated to this motor, and power is sent to the back wheels through a manual limited-slip differential.

KW two-way adjustable suspension and AP Racing brakes with forged Radi-CAL calipers are other significant components of the Oletha Coupe. It also rides on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on forged and machined monoblock wheels. The inside of the car has yet to be seen, but the firm promises an "Audiophile-grade sound system" with 8-way adjustable touring or carbon fiber sport seats. The price of the automobile is yet to be determined.
