The next BMW 7 Series will become much easier!

We all already know that Mercedes-Benz has launched its new S-Class and promoted it as the most technologically advanced product of its history. Now, the BMW officials are expected to give as more details as possible. Thus, Herbert Diess, the man who coordinates the development of the next 7 Series generation, promises the most advanced BMW ever created.

One of the major novelties introduced the new 7 Series is the monocoque chassis, constructed from a mix of aluminum, steel and carbon fiber. It will replace the current one, made of high strength steel only. The use of much lighter materials will reduce the total weight of the 740i version well below those 1900 of the current generation. Official sources say that its mass will be reduced to below 1,670 kilograms, as the one of the current 5 Series model.

The decision to subject the model of an intensive slimming process comes after the BMW engineers have made great progress in developing the carbon structure of the Electricite i3. There were many rumors that said that the weight loss will be due to a reduction in size, but the future BMW 7 Series will not definitely measure less than 5010 mm long, 1815 mm wide and 1425 mm high.

The first prototypes have already entered the testing phase. The final launch is scheduled for the end of 2015.
