Making its debut in the Japanese market, the Toyota Crown Sport now offers a choice between self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. The exterior boasts refined features such as slim LED headlights, carefully sculpted bodywork, 21-inch alloy wheels, and horizontally arranged LED taillights.

Attention has been placed on ensuring seamless entry and exit, achieved through a combination of elevated hip points, rocker panels, and rear door trim that enhances leg movement.

Adding to the comfort, the Crown Sport introduces Toyota’s sound-regulating ceiling, effectively maintaining a tranquil cabin ambiance. The powertrain selection presents two options. The first utilizes a self-charging hybrid system, employing the 2.5-liter E-Four Parallel Hybrid System from the Crown Crossover, delivering a combined output of 231 hp to all four wheels through an electric 4WD system.

On the other hand, the plug-in hybrid variant promises an extended electric vehicle range thanks to a new large-capacity lithium-ion battery without compromising cabin space. Built on the TNGA platform, the Crown Sport has been meticulously tuned to provide an enjoyable driving experience, emphasizing the connection between the driver and the vehicle.

Enhancing its agility, the Crown Sport SUV incorporates the Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) system. Production of the Toyota Crown will take place at the Tsutsumi Plant in Japan, with an initial offering of a single Hybrid Sport Z grade priced at ¥5,900,000 ($39,620). Orders are currently being accepted in Japan, with the hybrid variant set for November deliveries, followed by the plug-in hybrid in December. This marks a significant addition to the Toyota lineup, catering to automotive enthusiasts seeking a blend of performance, efficiency, and advanced technology.
