The New Polestar O2 Concept Is A Tempting Convertible Progress Of The Original Precept

A spectacular sports car GT version of the Precept concept from Polestar has pushed the company a step further away from its Volvo roots. The O2 is a gorgeous two-door electric vehicle with 2+2 seating and a retractable hardtop.

Nevertheless, while Polestar has already stated that the four-door Precept will be produced as the Polestar 5 in 2024, the O2 is only a concept. There is no doubt that Polestar's design language will influence future models even if the convertible is never made.

There is a lot in common with the Precept's style. The O2 retains the same nose with twin hockey-stick lighting features on either side of the curving hood but adds a forceful front splitter beneath the top edge of the hood.
The bulging arches are filled with large wheels with a cross pattern, which is joined by a black sill that goes deep into the side bodywork.

The O2, on the other hand, rides on a Precept/5 chassis with a wheelbase reduced from 12.1 inches (307 mm) to 109.9 inches (2792 mm), has two doors instead of four, and a spectacular glass-topped top that can be lowered beneath the back deck. Flying buttresses like those found on Ferrari F8 Spiders dominate the rear design when the roof is folded.

On the inside, the console features a 15-inch portrait touchscreen, as well as a second tiny digital instrument cluster just above the steering wheel. The style is extremely simple, but it's still incredibly opulent. The vehicle also includes a drone that pulls out from behind the back seats and can be released while the vehicle is in motion.

Polestar

Polestar claims that the flying machine can keep up with the automobile at speeds of up to 56 mph (90 km/h) and that drivers can edit and share the footage captured on the O2's central display. In terms of the powertrain, the company hasn't shared any information with the public.
