The world premiere of the new Lexus ES generation took place at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year.
The new ES generation represents an upper mid-class car that should be a competitor for the same competing models for the IS range (BMW Seria 3, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Klasse). Its dimensions, however (Body 4 length, width and height 900/1820/1450), and the fact that lends the platform from the business sedan Toyota Camry berline, enabling this car to serve as an alternative also for the higher class car buyers (Audi A6, Volvo S80, Jaguar XF etc).
Under the hood, the Lexus offers for the new ES available in the local market two propulsion units: a 2.5-liter petrol engine L4 that develops a maximum power of 184 HP and a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine able to provide to the driver maximum 277 HP and 346 Nm. Both motors can be coupled to a classical automatic transmission with six reports. The performances of these versions are similar at the top speed level - 207 kmph for L4 and 210 kmph for the V6. The time of acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph differ by 1,4 seconds, the ES 350 model sprints in 7,4 seconds, respectively 9,8 seconds needs the model having the index 250 ES.
