The Austrian manufacturer KTM has unveiled its first road-ready four-wheeled vehicle. The new X-Bow GT-XR is closely connected to the X-Bow GT2 racing car, which debuted in 2020.

The 196-pound roadster's lightweight design was made possible by a carbon-fiber monocoque, which, according to KTM, has the best torsional stiffness of any carbon tub used in a road car. The body and cabin are both constructed from carbon fiber, which contribute to the vehicle's 2,755-pound curb weight.

Power is provided by an Audi 2.5-liter turbo-5 engine located in the trunk and sending power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The engine has been fine-tuned to produce 493 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. According to KTM, the acceleration from 0 to 62 mph takes just 3.4 seconds, and the maximum speed is 174 mph.

The pushrods and Sachs dampers make up the suspension, while the 8-piston calipers in the back are responsible for stopping the vehicle. Customers who want to save even more weight on their purchases may want to consider carbon-ceramic rotors.

There is also a front axle hydraulic lift kit that may be purchased separately. OZ Racing 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels shod with 235/35 and 295/35 size tires respectively come standard on the X-Bow GT-XR. It's possible to order center-lock wheels in a larger size.

Inside, the new X-Bow GT-XR sports a retractable steering wheel, integrated digital instrument cluster, carbon-fiber bucket seats with Alcantara upholstery, and a canopy reminiscent of a jet fighter's. The KTM factory in Graz, Austria, is responsible for producing the X-Bow GT-XR, with an annual output limit of 100 units. You may have one for as little as 284,900 euros (about $282,100), and deliveries will begin in 2023.
