The New 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Is Here

Introducing the highly anticipated 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class! Say hello to this stunning new addition to the Mercedes-Benz family. As far as design goes, it takes a lot of cues from the S-Class. However, its smaller size and revised shape make it seem almost as sporty as the C-Class.

The new piano black grille surround up front and the three-pointed star pattern in the rear lights give the E-Class a distinct look that sets it apart from the competition. The grille may either be "progressive," meaning it has hundreds of small stars, or "classic," meaning it has the traditional Daimler slats.

The new E-Class has greater inside space, and its dashboard, gauge cluster, and infotainment screen are more similar to those of the EQE and EQS, the company's electric sedans. The E-Class has a built-in MBUX media screen and a separate digital instrument cluster as standard equipment. However, if you'd like, you may upgrade your dashboard screen by adding a passenger display in the space above the glovebox.

A selfie camera, applications like TikTok and games like Angry Birds, and the ability to stream video are all unexpected bonuses. However, a face monitoring system will turn off the video being transmitted to the passenger screen if the driver is seen to be taking their eyes off the road for extended time. The base E200 petrol has 201 horsepower and comes standard with rear-wheel drive, while the E200d diesel has a choice between rear- and 4Matic all-wheel drive and produces 194 hp.

These trims are capable of reaching a speed of 62 mph in 7.8 seconds or less and can achieve a top speed of 145 mph. This is made possible by an integrated starter generator that has been enhanced to produce an output of 17 kW, up from the previous 15 kW.

Plug-in variants introduced in Europe all use 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engines paired with 95 kW electric motors, allowing for speeds of up to 62 miles per hour while relying only on electric power. The E300e and E300e 4Matic, based on the E200 but with a larger electric motor, produce 308 horsepower, while the E400e 4Matic, based on the E400, produces 376 horsepower. The quickest of the bunch is the E400e, which can sprint to 62 mph in only 5.3 seconds.

Two mild-hybrids, the E350 with four cylinders and the E450 with six, are offered in the North American market. Both the E350 and the E350 S produce 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque on their own, but that's before you factor in the MHEV's 20-horsepower increase. A plug-in hybrid version of the E-Class is not yet available to customers in North America. Pricing for the 2024 Mercedes E-Class has not been released. Sales will begin later this year.
