The Seoul Mobility Show is in full flow at this time. Hyundai took advantage of the event to show off the new 2024 Sonata's specs and features, including a major redesign of the sedan's exterior. Hyundai has claimed that this is more than a cosmetic refresh, but our initial inspection shows that the majority of the work has been done on the car's outside.

Let us begin at the very beginning. The new design concept, named "Sensuous Sportiness," is evident in the wider grille, more dramatic air intakes, full-width LED light bar, and concealed headlamps. These features suggest a more contemporary and dynamic appearance for the car.

Further styling updates are present at the rear of the 2024 Hyundai Sonata, including revisions to the trunk lid and the addition of H-lights and an updated light bar. For those opting for the N-Line model, additional design elements are present, such as a larger front grille, unique 19-inch wheels, a more noticeable rear spoiler, and new dual tailpipes.

Inside, you'll be greeted by a panoramic curved display that houses a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Additionally, a 12-inch head-up display and a 12-speaker Bose Premium Sound System are included. The car also supports over-the-air software updates and features a new Digital Key 2 that can be paired with iOS and Android smartphones and smartwatches.

Regarding the powertrain options, the 2024 Hyundai Sonata will be available in three engine configurations: a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder, a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, and a 2.0-liter hybrid electric system. Unfortunately, Hyundai has not yet released details on the horsepower and torque specifications of these engines.

The new 2024 Hyundai Sonata comes with a suite of standard safety features, including Blind-Spot Collision Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. There is also an updated Remote Smart Parking Assist feature that lets drivers use the smart key fob to park the car from a distance. The new model boasts improved side collision protection and best-in-class braking performance and distance. Additionally, Hyundai has worked to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness levels in the car.
