The Most Popular Automotive Paint Colors For 2021

Axalta Coating Systems, a supplier of automotive paints based in the United States, has performed a poll to determine the most popular colors for 2021. For the past 10 years, white has been the most popular automotive color in the world, but that popularity is ebbing. The popularity of gray, on the other hand, is surging, eventually approaching that of black.

According to the report, almost 35% of all new automobiles are painted white. Black and grey automobiles account for 19% of all vehicles, with the number of grey cars increasing by 4% compared to 2020. Silver and blue come in 4th and 5th position, with 9% and 8%, respectively, followed by red with 5%, brown/beige with 3%, green with 1%, and yellow with 1%. The remaining colors received less than 1%.

In 2017, the most popular color was white. This color was used on 39% of all new autos at the time. White color will lose 3% globally in 2021, and 7% in China, the world's largest automobile market.

With a percentage of 27%, Europe is the only area where gray new automobiles predominate. Silver automobiles are the most popular in South America, with 23%, while black cars are the most popular in Europe, with 22%, leading the luxury market. On North American roadways, red automobiles are the most frequent, accounting for 8% of the market.
