The Mitsuoka M55 Will Be Produced Next Year Due To High Demand

The M55 Concept will become a production model by 2025, according to Japanese coach manufacturer Mitsuoka. The 11th-generation Honda Civic serves as the model's foundation. However, a thorough stylistic makeover turned it into an exact replica of the Dodge Challenger, with the five-door fastback bodystyle fusing parts from other American muscle cars.

To commemorate the company's 55th anniversary, the Mitsuoka M55 Concept made its premiere in November 2023. Although it has new body panels and is almost unrecognizable, the chassis is the same as the Honda Civic Hatchback.

As you already noticed, because of the quad-round headlamps within the extended grille, the front end looks a lot like the Dodge Challenger. Conversely, the fastback tail with the louvers above the rear window gives it a Ford Mustang-like appearance.

The increased front and back overhangs affect the Civic's proportions, but the greenhouse, roofline, and doors stay the same, as expected. Interior modifications are restricted to retro-styled upholstery and Mitsuoka badging since the Honda's simple dashboard is ideal for the purpose. The concept was shown at unique shows, drawing a lot of interest from followers and potential clients.

According to Mitsuoka's account, 1,050 groups came to the Azabu display, while over 500 individuals visited the Toyama exhibition. In a short amount of time, the company received over 1,300 applications expressing interest in the product's commercialization.

The public's positive reaction to the idea, which was first developed as a one-off for Mitsuoka's 55th birthday, encouraged the firm to put it into production. In the formal statement, Mitsuoka thanks all of the potential customers. But because of their small capacity for handcrafted goods, the firm "may not be able to deliver the product to everyone who wishes to purchase it."

We will shortly be announcing further information regarding the availability, including the date of release and the cost.
