The KTM X-Bow GT2 Racer Might Inspire A Road-Going Supercar

It was in 2008 that Austrian motorcycle company KTM made its foray into automobiles with the unveiling of the first X-Bow. Since then, the X-Bow has received several modifications, the most noteworthy of which is the 2020 introduction of the X-Bow GT2 race vehicle, which features an enclosed body and a 600-hp powerplant.

In order to expand KTM's road-car portfolio, KTM is creating a road-going version of the GT2 X-Bow. Apparently, the new vehicle will keep the X-Bow GT2's mechanical configuration, which consists of an Audi-sourced 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-5 engine and driving the rear wheels via a sequential gearbox.

In the race vehicle, the engine is set to produce 600 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. It's not yet known if the production vehicle will be able to duplicate this level of power. The X-Bow GT2's suspension consists of push-rods with Sachs dampers. The braking system has six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers, with rotors reaching more than 14 inches at all four wheels.

The body will be made of carbon fiber, much like the race vehicle. The road vehicle, however, will allegedly weigh more than the racer's 2,310 pounds because of all the accessories needed to make it road legal.
There was no indication of a debut date for the new vehicle.
