The Future Is Now: Honda’s S7 Electric SUV With Cutting-Edge Technology
by AutoExpert | 12 March, 2025
The production version of Honda’s all-electric S7 has finally been unveiled, and it’s certainly caught attention. Initially previewed as the Ye S7, the new model drops the "Ye" from the name and sets its sights on offering something a bit more premium, but still affordable—starting at ¥259,900, or around $35,800.
Unlike many budget-friendly electric crossovers, the S7 is designed to stand out in China’s crowded EV market. It’s part of Honda's collaboration with Dongfeng and looks to go head-to-head with rivals like the Tesla Model Y and the Zeekr 7X.

The base Honda S7 model features a single motor that delivers 268 hp, which should be plenty for everyday driving. The range on this version is an impressive 404 miles (650 km) on the Chinese CLTC cycle. For those who crave a bit more oomph, a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version is available, pushing the power up to 469 hp. The range drops a bit with this version to 385 miles (620 km), but it’s still more than enough for most drivers.

In terms of size, the Honda S7 is a compact SUV with a spacious feel. At 4,750 mm (187 inches) long and with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm (115.4 inches), it offers plenty of legroom and comfort. The design also aims for a tech-forward, luxurious feel, with a 12.8-inch infotainment screen that stands out on the dashboard. There’s also a 9.9-inch digital cluster for the driver, and Honda’s swapped out traditional mirrors for cameras mounted on the doors—a cool, futuristic touch.

Inside, the Honda S7 has a nice open vibe, thanks to twin glass roof panels. And for those who love great sound, there’s an optional 16-speaker Bose sound system that’s pretty top-notch. These touches definitely give the S7 an upscale feel that will attract buyers.
