The European Powertrains Of The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Have Been Revealed

Mercedes unveiled the new 2023 GLC and disclosed which engines will be available in Europe and Australia. In Europe, Mercedes-Benz will offer a variety of powertrains, with half of them being mild hybrids and the other three being plug-in hybrids.

All of the available powertrains are based on the automaker's Family of Modular Engines, which are all four-cylinder engines. The ISG can then add 22 hp and 147 lb-ft of torque to the motor.

The motor in the GLC 200 4Matic produces 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. The GLC 220 d 4MATIC has 194 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Nevertheless, the GLC 300 has 255 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. Add the boost as well.

Four-cylinder engines with Mercedes' fourth-generation PHEV drive technology are also included in the plug-in hybrid drivetrains. The technology is more compact and potent and is capable of propelling the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC up to 87 mph. The SUV can travel up to 62 miles on electric power alone, thanks to a 31.2 kWh battery pack. The GLC's electric engine is able to produce up to 134 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.

That translates to 308 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque in the GLC 300 e 4MATIC. The GLC 400 e 4MATIC has 375 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, while the GLC 300 de 4MATIC has 328 horsepower and a monstrous 553 pound-feet of torque. See the gallery below for additional information.
