If you crave a 2,000HP electric hypercar now you may have another option on the market just for you - the Estrema Fulminea that is scheduled to be revealed later this month. The Fulminea is the first product released by Automobili Estrema, the Italian company under the guidance of Gianfranco Pizzuto. The former shareholder and distributor based the company in Modena, Italy.

The Estrema Fulminea is a standing-out hypercar due to its original battery pack and Estrema claims that their model could be the first street-legal hypercar fitted with a “hybrid” battery pack that can combine together solid-state cells and ultra-capacitors a maximum performance.

Diving into the combined cells it’s obvious that they are packed into two different cases made out of carbon fiber. The ultracapacitor pack is mounted near the front axle. Meanwhile, the bigger solid-state Li-ion battery pack. This one is wisely located behind the passenger cell and ahead of the rear axle. The solid-state cells were developed by Avesta Battery Energy Engineering and feature the newest “cell-to-pack” technology.

According to the company’s tests, the 100-kWh battery pack revealed an “unprecedented” energy density of 450 Wh/kg, better than the one offered by Tesla battery packs. Estrema estimates the Fulminea batteries weigh under 300 kg (661 lbs), and if this is not enough, imagine the whole vehicle offering a curb weight of just 1,507 kg (3,307 lbs).

Another interesting fact about the Estrema’s hypercar is its powertrain which consists of four electric motors delivering a total output of 2,040 horsepower. With so much power, the Fulminea can accelerate from 0 to 320 km/h (200 mph) in just 10 seconds along with of 323 miles (520 km) driving range on the WLTP cycle.

For an official reveal of the Estrema Fulminea, we should wait patiently until May 13 at the Turin Automobile Museum. Meanwhile, it was confirmed that Automobili Estrema would deliver the first customer examples of the Fulminea in the second half of 2023.
