The Cayenne EV Just Got A 657 HP Middle Model

Porsche is expanding the electric Cayenne lineup with a new middle option called the Cayenne S Electric. It sits between the entry-level model and the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric Turbo, giving buyers something with a bit more punch without going all the way to the flagship version.

The numbers are pretty strong for a large SUV. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup delivers 536 horsepower in normal driving and up to 657 horsepower when Launch Control is engaged. That is enough to push the Cayenne S from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.6 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 155 mph. For comparison, the base Porsche Cayenne Electric produces 435 horsepower and takes around 4.5 seconds to reach 60 mph.

Both motors are permanent-magnet units, with the rear one using direct oil cooling to keep temperatures under control during hard driving. Porsche says this setup removes heat directly from the key electrical components, which helps the system maintain performance more consistently. The rear inverter also uses silicon-carbide semiconductors capable of handling up to 620 amps.

Buyers can add several performance-focused options as well. Packages such as Porsche Active Ride suspension, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, and the Sport Chrono package are available. The latter includes a push-to-pass function that temporarily adds another 120 horsepower for up to ten seconds.

Charging is quick, too. The Cayenne S uses a 113 kWh battery pack and supports charging speeds of up to 400 kW, allowing it to go from 10 to 80 percent in under 16 minutes on a suitable fast charger. Porsche has not yet confirmed the final driving range.

Visually, the Porsche Cayenne Electric S gets its own details, including Volcano Grey Metallic trim on the front and rear and 20-inch Cayenne S Aero wheels. Buyers can choose from 13 exterior colors, along with several interior customization options. One of the new choices is an Interior Style Package from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur that pairs black leather with green accents and matching stitching.

Orders for the Cayenne S Electric are now open. Pricing starts at $126,300 before a $2,350 destination charge, and U.S. deliveries are expected to begin in late summer 2026. That places it about $17,300 above the base Cayenne Electric.
