The BMW M3 GTR Returns: Need For Speed’s Legendary Ride Is Back

BMW and Electronic Arts have teamed up to bring back a legend—the iconic BMW M3 GTR from Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005). This fan-favorite car is making its return in Need for Speed: Unbound as part of the Vol 9: Prepare for the Lockdown update, available now.
To celebrate, BMW wrapped an E46 M3 in the car’s signature silver-and-blue livery, staying true to its look from almost two decades ago. The real-life version will be on display at BMW Welt in Munich from November 27 to January 6, giving fans a chance to see this digital icon in the flesh.
“The M3 GTR model is one of the most recognizable cars in the history of Need for Speed, so for the 30th anniversary we wanted to do something special,” said John Stanley, Senior Creative Director for NFS: Unbound. In a first for the series, players can now ride the BMW S 1000 RR motorcycle, adding a new layer of speed and excitement.
Also joining the game are the Honda Integra Type R and the Subaru Impreza WRX ST. The update is live for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC players.
