The AUDI A3 Etron — available this fall!
by AllAutoExperts | 17 April, 2020
It's a 5 door compact with a 1.4 liter 4 cylinder engine plus an electric motor that puts 204 hp to the front wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. It will take about 8 hours to charge the 8.8 kWh lithium-ion battery which is under the rear seat.
For charging it uses a conventional 120-volt outlet, there is available a Bosch 240-volt unit which gets the job done in about 2.25 hours.

This is not the most wonderful time for electric vehicles however as low gas prices and a lot of competing for conventionally powered cars and light trucks have come to market. The issue on the side of the electrics is that strict new fuel economy laws are going to push toward their favor.

Sales of electric vehicles are down throughout the market now so it is a tough time for electrics. The A3 will be in U.S. dealerships in October with a price tag starting at $37,900.
