Abarth has announced that a small run of the Classiche 1000 SP, based on the Alfa Romeo 4C, will be manufactured. The Abarth 1000 SP concept vehicle, which debuted in early 2021 and was inspired by the original racing car from 1966, served as a preview of the next sports car.

The Stellantis Heritage Department will display the Classiche 1000 SP alongside a 1956 Abarth 750 Record, a 1966 Abarth 1000 SP, a 1974 Alfa Romeo Alfetta, a 1989 Alfa Romeo S.Z., a 1951 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT, and a 1994 Lancia Delta HF Integrale at the Padua Motor Show, which takes place from October 20–23.

Due to its shared DNA with the Alfa Romeo 4C, the Abarth Classiche 1000 SP is powered by a 1.75-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine good for 237 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. The hybrid chassis is identical to that of the 4C, down to the carbon fiber core cell, while the front end is built of aluminum. According to the company, the Abarth Classiche 1000 SP weighs just 2,367 lbs and has a peak speed of 155 mph.

However, despite having the same dimensions as the 4C, the Abarth Classiche 1000 SP has a very distinct appearance. Four small round headlights, a hood with a big air intake, and a tiny grille stand out at the front. LED daytime running lights are included. Both the final price and the number of units produced are still unknown at this time.
