In Japan, Subaru has just unveiled the updated BRZ. The manual BRZ now has Sport Mode, LED daytime running lights, and a reworked suspension and steering system. Since its introduction in 2021, Subaru has made numerous model-year changes to the second-generation Subaru BRZ.

After adding the EyeSight ADAS equipment to the manual version of the sportscar last year, Subaru is now concentrating on improving the handling. The upgraded damper settings and electric power steering assist are the show-stoppers; they provide crisper handling and better ride comfort.

Only the Cup Car Basic, R, and S trims get the upgraded suspension; the top-tier STI Sport model adjusts its dampers precisely for STI. Including a Sport Mode button in the center console, which is exclusive to the manual BRZ versions, is another significant change. This upgrade will make the cabin's Active Sound Control system louder and throttle response better.

However, the automated transmission has undergone fine-tuning, enabling the driver to manually downshift at a higher RPM, thereby enhancing their control. The engine has not undergone any modifications. The 232 horsepower (173 kilowatts, or 235 PS) and 250 Newton-meters (184.4 pound-feet) of torque are identical to the naturally aspirated 2.4-liter boxer engine.

Daytime running lights are standard on all trim levels except the Cup Car Basic, which is the only cosmetic modification. The interior has mostly remained the same, with a new turn signal stalk and Sport Mode button. The revised 2025 Subaru BRZ is already on sale in Japan but will debut to the public on July 14 at Fuji Speedway.

Prices for the 2025 Subaru BRZ begin at ¥3,322,000 ($20,870) for the entry-level R model with a manual transmission and go up to ¥3,817,000 ($23,975) for the top-tier STI Sport model with an automatic. Although it lacks daytime running lights (DRLs), the stripped-down Cup Car Basic with black steelies is still up for grabs for ¥3,722,400 ($23,376).
