The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance has finally arrived in the U.S., promising serious hybrid muscle at the top of the lineup. Pricing details are still under wraps, but it will sit alongside the GT 43 and GT 53 4-Door Coupes, which start at $101,100 and $112,000, respectively.

One of the most noticeable changes is a fresh front-end design. The grille now features a gloss black lower section that looks like the car's sporting a sleek lipstick accent. The previous model's wide air intakes are gone, replaced by more refined openings reminiscent of the second-gen AMG GT Coupe.

Power remains a big story here. The sedan continues with AMG's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, paired with a beefy electric motor adding 201 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. Combined, that’s a staggering 831 hp and 1,032 lb-ft—eclipsing rivals like the BMW M5. Power flows through a nine-speed automatic transmission and a fully variable AWD system, propelling the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 197 mph.

Even though plug-in hybrids have seen waning interest in some markets, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance brings some intriguing tech, like a four-stage brake regeneration system. There's even a one-pedal driving mode that can recoup up to 100 kW of energy in the 4.8 kWh battery pack, which provides a modest all-electric range.

Inside, Mercedes-AMG has made minor updates. The MBUX infotainment system now includes AMG-specific displays, and every model gets an AMG Performance steering wheel as standard. With this level of performance and luxury, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance is set to make a bold statement among high-performance hybrids in the U.S. market.
