Later this year, the brand-new 2024 Opel Grandland will hit the market (in the UK under the Vauxhall banner, and as an Opel in the rest of continental Europe). Interestingly, there will be combustion-powered and all-electric versions of the Grandland.

The new Grandland is much bigger than the previous model. In all, its length increases by 6.8 inches, its height by 0.7 inches, and its width by 2.5 inches. Because of these growth spurts, the Grandland is now 183.1 inches in length, 75 inches in width, and 65.4 inches in height.

Additionally, its 109.6-inch wheelbase provides enough support. The outcome is a 36-liter increase in trunk capacity and an extra 0.8 inches of legroom for rear-seat passengers over the previous version. Stellantis' STLA Medium platform, which the Grandland and the Peugeot 3008 share, is known for its adaptability.

Electric Grandland models are available with either a 73 kWh or a 98 kWh battery pack. These electric vehicles have an astonishing range of up to 435 miles and can rapidly charge up to 160 kW thanks to their 400V construction. While it is not yet official, we may anticipate a front-wheel-drive basic model at launch, with a dual-motor variant following later.

There will be a combustion version with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine and a 48-volt mild hybrid system, and later on, a plug-in hybrid version with a range of around 50 miles on electricity alone will be available. A few of the new additions to the most recent Grandland model include a headlight logo, a two-tone floating roof, strong wheel-arch feature lines, Intelli-Lux Pixel Matrix HD lighting, and a Vizor look front.

Interior features include a heads-up display, motorized side bolsters, ventilation, and a massage function for the seats, as well as a 16-inch infotainment screen. For Opel, the new Grandland represents a watershed moment. "With it, every Opel is now available electrically," said Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel.

“This is a big step in our electric offensive. The new Grandland was designed and developed in Rüsselsheim and will be built in Eisenach. The relationship to the Opel Experimental is unmistakable. It offers innovations that were first seen on this extraordinary concept car. The new Grandland will therefore strengthen our position in the important C-SUV segment.” Opel hasn't yet announced a release date, but we anticipate the Grandland to arrive in dealerships in the fall.
