Rodin Cars, a small company based in New Zealand, has revealed that the manufacturing of its radical FZERO track car will shortly begin. Its initial unveiling occurred three years ago. The Rodin FZERO was created without any limitations and is intended to be the quickest vehicle around the track.

Only 27 units are scheduled to roll off the assembly line, with the first ones coming in 2023. The FZERO is lightweight, as it should be for a race vehicle. Rodin FZERO weighs only 1,538 pounds and is made completely of carbon fiber. Rodin claims that it makes all of the car's carbon fiber components in-house. Considering it is 216 inches in length and 86.6 inches in width, this is remarkable.

The vehicle is propelled by a Rodin and Neil Brown Engineering-developed 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V10. As far as V10 engines go, this one aims to be the lightest possible. The electric power unit contributes its own 174 horsepower to the total output, bringing the total power available to 1,159 horsepower and 757 lb-ft of torque, as claimed by the manufacturer.

This motor can reach a maximum of 10,000 revolutions per minute. In addition, its top speed is advertised as 224 miles per hour. An eight-speed gearbox with a titanium 3D-printed housing that was created in collaboration with Ricardo is linked to the V10.

The Rodin FZERO's braking system has also received a lot of attention. It sports front and rear 380 mm carbon-carbon brake discs with six-piston and four-piston titanium calipers, respectively. Regenerative braking for the hybrid system is also provided by these brakes.

A pair of custom 18-inch OZ Racing wheels have also been designed for the vehicle, with front wheels measuring 14 inches and rear wheels measuring 16 inches, covered in 300 mm and 360 mm tires, respectively. Among the many impressive claims made about the Rodin FZERO is that it can generate up to 8,818 lb of downforce. The automaker has not revealed the top speed at which the vehicle can reach this mark. No price information has been made public.
