Tesla’s New Model Y Juniper Upgrade Unlocks 100 HP With A Tap, And It’ll Cost You $2K

Tesla has once again introduced a faster upgrade for the updated Model Y Juniper. You can purchase "Acceleration Boost" directly through the Tesla app for $2,000. Once unlocked, it shaves the 0–60 mph time from 4.6 seconds down to 4.2. Not bad for something that takes less effort than ordering a pizza.

Tesla fan and industry watcher Matthew Donegan Ryan says the upgrade adds around 100 extra horsepower, which is a pretty solid bump. That kind of boost turns the Model Y into something that’ll genuinely pin you back in your seat. 

This little trick comes as Tesla starts rolling out more of the updated Juniper Model Ys. Currently, only the Long Range AWD version is available in the U.S., with the cheaper Rear-Wheel Drive and the full-on Performance trims still missing in action.
