Teammate Semi-Autonomous Driving Technology To Be Added To 2022 Toyota Mirai

Toyota Mirai is a marvel of engineering, and the hydrogen-powered flagship now comes with Teammate driving aid tech. The Teammate system, which is only available on the $66,000 Mirai Limited, has two main functions: Advanced Drive and Advanced Park.
The Limited comes included with Advanced Park, which enables hands-free parking by steering, accelerating, braking, and changing gears. Advanced Drive is a $5,170 addition that enables hands-free highway driving in certain circumstances.
"Under active supervision of the driver," Toyota claims, the Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system can "plan and execute accelerating, braking, and steering directions." The 2022 Mirai has a 1.24 kWh lithium-ion battery and three carbon-fiber composite hydrogen storage facilities that supply a fuel cell with a starting price of $49,500.
A chemical reaction takes place when hydrogen is mixed with oxygen from the air. Water is the only consequence of this process, which produces energy.
A rear-mounted electric engine with 182 horsepower (134 kW/185 PS) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque is powered by electricity. This allows Toyota Mirai to sprint from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) in 9.2 seconds and go up to 402 miles (647 km).
