SVE Oletha Is A Stunning Homage To BMW's Past

Over the years, we've seen some incredible BMW restomods, from a 135i-based 2002 convertible to a stunning E30 M3 that's been rebuilt in the same style as Singer's Porsches. When done correctly, BMW restomods are stunning, as seen by Robert Downey Jr.'s 3.0 CS. That car features M5 power in the shape of the E34's S38 motor.

The Oletha is a vehicle designed by Smit Vehicle Engineering. It is M-powered, but it's the E92 M3 GTS' V8.   SVE doesn't specify exactly what its Oletha is built on, but anybody with even a vague interest in BMWs can understand it's a Z4 designed to appear like a hardtop Z8, one of Munich's most beautiful vehicles. "The car we wish BMW had produced," the firm says of Oletha, "an uncompromising combination of BMW's finest design, engineering, and racing triumphs."

It is built on German engineering and filled with American creativity and enthusiasm. The S65B44 is a 4.4-liter V8 engine with an 8,500-rpm redline that produces over 450 horsepower. Separate throttle bodies, a bespoke carbon-fiber intake manifold, and a stainless steel and Inconel exhaust contribute to the car's intensity.

When you're behind the wheel, a six-speed manual gearbox and a mechanical limited-slip differential guarantee that you're having a good time.

SVE has also added KW adjustable suspension, ultralight forged aluminum control arms, AP Racing improved brakes, forged monoblock wheels, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires to the mix. The stunning body is composed of carbon composite, with a curb weight of about 3,090 lbs.

The electrically operated rear spoiler is a lovely touch, and the interior boasts the best quality materials and a powerful sound system. Eight-way adjustable touring units or composite sport seats are available. According to SVE, 3D printing is widely used here, so we're hoping these aren't too expensive.
