Stellantis Motorsport is just rolling out the new Peugeot 208 Racing. The 208 Racing is purely built for the FR6 Trophy series, set to join the French Rally Cup in 2025. Stellantis is the first manufacturer to commit to this new competition.

With its white steel wheels, eye-catching lime green accents on the daytime running lights, and a bold livery reminiscent of Peugeot's iconic rally days, the rally-spec 208 exudes a strong 106 Rallye vibe.

Inside, it's all business, with a fully welded roll cage and an automatic fire extinguisher system meeting Rally4 regulations. The car's interior boasts a multifunction display, a kill switch, and custom-built racing controls. Stellantis even upgraded the car’s electronics to help teams better gather and analyze race data. Under the hood lies a revamped 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine pushing 143 horsepower—significantly more than the standard 208, though still 66 hp shy of the full-on Rally4 version.

Given the 208 Racing’s trim 1,050 kg (2,315 lb) weight, it’s got plenty of power to throw around. A short-ratio six-speed manual gearbox channels the grunt to the front wheels. This rally machine isn’t just fast—it’s also eco-conscious. The engine runs on superethanol-E85 fuel, cutting CO2 emissions by about 30% compared to standard gasoline.

Stellantis fine-tuned the suspension and braking systems with insights from seasoned racing drivers, while the use of Michelin Pilot Sport PS5 tires keeps costs down. Priced at €38,900 (around $42,110), the  Peugeot 208 Racing is far more affordable than the pricier 208 Rally4. Stellantis is currently accepting orders, with delivery scheduled for February 2025.
