In a rather unexpected move, Aston Martin is actively keeping the tradition of producing cars with manual transmissions alive.

To mark their 110th anniversary and pay homage to their storied heritage, the automaker introduced the Valour—a limited-edition V12-powered supercar that proudly features a manual gearbox complete with three pedals.

Aston Martin isn't stopping at one; they have plans to craft more of these manual-transmission vehicles. The inspiration behind the Valour came from the remarkable success of the one-off Victor, a standout vehicle that garnered significant attention during its public showcase at Hampton Court and even earned the prestigious Future Classic award.

Marek Reichman, the head of design at Aston Martin, revealed this creative endeavor. Mark Newton, who heads the bespoke division at Aston Martin, took a moment to underscore the brand's unwavering commitment to preserving and advancing the art of manual transmissions. He expressed that if the market demands it, they are more than willing to continue refining and developing manual transmission vehicles.

Newton emphasized the distinctive experience that a manual gearbox offers—a way to keep the driver fully engaged, resulting in journeys that leave a vivid and lasting impression. Reichman echoed this sentiment, highlighting that amidst the automotive world's common trends, there's always a group of enthusiasts seeking something distinctive and exceptional.

Under the elegantly sculpted hood of the Valour rests a potent front-mounted, twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 engine. This powerhouse delivers an impressive 705 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque. Yet, what truly sets the Valour apart is its transmission—a bespoke six-speed manual gearbox, a clear testament to Aston Martin's commitment to providing unique and engaging driving experiences.
