Special Diet For Dodge Challenger SRT Demon
by AllAutoExperts | 17 April, 2020
While developing the future Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, the carmaker has managed to cut off 215 pounds of the car's weight. This is absolutely great, considering that a huge super-charged V8 engine is powering it.
The special weight-saving treatment began in the cabin of the car, where the carmaker ditched the front passenger seat, with the seatbelt, thus cutting off 58 pounds. The rear bench has also been taken out of the picture (55 pounds), along with 4 pounds saved from the manual tilt-telescope steering wheel.
A series of sound-deadening components have been excluded, this saving 18 pounds. The custom 18x11 inch wheels are saving another 16 pounds, while the smaller brakes add 16 pounds to the weight loss.
Moreover, Dodge has reduced the sound system to two diffusers, took out the spare tire, and ditched the trunk's lining. Altogether, the above changes cut off 232 pounds from the vehicle's initial weight.
The new Challenger will be shown off at the New York Auto Show in April.
