Sleek, Spacious, And Electric: Meet The Foxtron Model D

Foxtron, the automotive arm of Foxconn (yes, the iPhone maker), has unveiled the Model D—an all-electric minivan concept that feels more like a lifestyle on wheels than just a car. Developed with the legendary design house Pininfarina, this futuristic vehicle straddles the line between SUV and MPV, but let’s face it, it’s a stylish minivan at heart.

The Model D might not be breaking design molds, but its sharp edges and sleek LED lighting give off a vibe that feels more Skoda than sci-fi. It’s got a solid street presence, even if it’s not exactly revolutionary. Still, with a drag coefficient of 0.23 cd, it’s surprisingly aerodynamic for its size—a major win for an electric vehicle this big.

In terms of dimensions, the Model D measures 5,195 mm (204.5 inches) in length, 1,995 mm (78.5 inches) in width, and stands 1,785 mm (70.3 inches) tall, making it marginally larger than Toyota's Sienna. On the inside, it’s all about comfort and tech. You’ve got a roomy 2+2+3 seating layout with plush captain’s chairs in the second row. The dashboard? It’s a tech lover’s dream with digital displays everywhere, including dual passenger screens in the back.

And because Foxconn knows a thing or two about gadgets, they’ve slipped wireless charging docks into the rear armrests—a smooth move. Pininfarina's Chief Creative Officer, Felix Kilbertus, designed the Model D to optimize space while maintaining its sleek, aerodynamic profile. Translation: It’s big, comfy, and still looks lovely rolling down the road. Built on a platform developed by ZF, the Model D runs on an 800V architecture, and though Foxtron is keeping the motor specs under wraps, its lithium-iron-phosphate battery should deliver between 100 and 120 kWh, giving it a range of around 660 km (410 miles).

Active suspension tech also adjusts the ride height on the fly by up to 25 mm, adding a cool layer of adaptability. Although the final production version, expected within two years, may not feature the Foxtron badge, this minivan offers a glimpse into the future of fully electric family vehicles.
