Skoda’s Patented Illuminated Seatbelt Buckles.

Do you have problems finding your seatbelt buckle at night? It’s soon to be “no problem”. Skoda has been granted a worldwide patent for the new system to eliminate this hassle by releasing illuminated seatbelt buckles.

Imagine the seatbelt buckle illuminated by multi-color LEDs that operate in three different color modes. The color white light changes to red when the passenger sits in the seat, and after they buckle up, the light then turns green.

Smart, right?

Skoda noted that this feature would be useful for parents who want to check if the little ones have forgotten to fasten their belt or have not engaged it correctly. You can even program it to display a welcome sequence, making them more visible in dark environments, and can also be integrated into the ambient lights.

 This smart system isn’t the only one feature devised, designed, and engineered in-house as Skoda’s looking forward to making life easier, safer, and more enjoyable for owners and drivers.

They also managed to patent the flexible cargo snake that secures boxes, crates, and other objects in the boot, and the hollow-fiber fabric floor mats, on which dirt is barely visible and are easy to clean. Another clever feature is the production line camera system that aligns the parts of the vehicle’s body with high precision before welding.
