Sian FKP 37 Tames The Lamborghini's V12 Engine

Sian FKP 37 looks like the latest rebodied Aventador special edition, but Lamborgini can prove that it's more than that. And their statement is backed up by Carfection's review who categorizes it more like a perfect blend of past and future. And we couldn't agree more, right?

The story behind the Sian FKP 37 nickname is a meaningful one, standing for Ferdinand Karl Piëch - FKP, while the '37" stands for its birth year, in 1937. For those who might not know, Ferdinand Karl Piëch was the automobile engineer and mostly known as the Volkswagen Chairman until 2015. He was one of the important people behind Lamborghini - also part of the German auto conglomerate. The Sian production is run towards 19 broadcasters and 63 coupes, back in 1963.

Despite being one of the first reviews of this particular supercar, the driving experience is thoroughly related. The Sia FKP 37 is based on the Aventador SVJ, sharing the same naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine, but it's upgraded with titanium intake valves and a new exhaust, which raises the output up to 774, with the hybrid system to forwardly play its role.

The hybrid system is aimed to add an electric motor to the gearbox, bringing the car's output up to 808 hp. The usual battery got replaced by a supercapacitor, which replaces only one-third of the lithium-ion battery. At the same time, it delivers three times as much power from the same density. The supercapacitor is completely self-rechargeable in a single braking stint.

Sian's performance hybrid system is almost unnoticeable while driving. Its power delivery is responsible for the system filling in torque gaps left by the seven-speed single-clutch transmission. The combination between the hybrid system and the V12 proprieties, provides Lamborghini thrills and adds power, and smooths out the imperfections.
