Shelby American Launches The Limited GT500 Code Red With 1,300 HP

As a first for the company, Shelby American has put one of its experimental cars into production. The Shelby GT500 Code Red is the company's first limited-edition vehicle with twin turbochargers. In addition to its unique exterior design, the Shelby GT500 Code Red is equipped with a high-output 5.2-liter V8 engine.
Several upgrades help the engine perform better, including a new fuel system, engine management software, and superior intercooler twin turbos.
With 93 octane fuel, the combined effect of all of these factors is an output of nearly 1,000 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque. If you fuel it with E85 ethanol, it can generate up to 1,300 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque.
There have also been a lot of other upgrades, such as new wheels, tires, axles, suspension adjustments, a carbon fiber hood, and more.
Only ten Shelby GT500s will be produced per model year from 2020 to 2022, with the bundle starting at $209,995. Furthermore, every GT500 Code Red comes with a membership to Team Shelby, a worldwide club that Carroll Shelby started in 2008.
