Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus' Baja Boot Is A Street-Legal Off-Road Beast In The Making

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus first mentioned the Baja Boot in 2018, and recent images shared on the company's page showcase the chassis construction, indicating that a production-intent prototype is on the horizon.

The Baja Boot is designed to be street legal, offering both two- and four-door options named Steve and Expedition, respectively. Steve pays homage to Steve McQueen, who raced the original Hurst Baja Boot that Glickenhaus bought in 2010.

After participating in the 2019 Baja 500 and narrowly completing the race ahead of a Ford Bronco R prototype, Glickenhaus announced the production version in 2020, considering LT5 engines generating 840 horsepower. Priced at $250,000 for the two-door and $275,000 for the four-door, the unique central driving position ensures ample space and visibility for passengers. 

While the images suggest a flat floor, raising questions about the distinctive seating layout's continuity in the production model, potential changes are anticipated. Some sources speculate a different engine, and a price increase wouldn't be surprising.

With Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus redirecting focus from its Le Mans campaign, attention is expected to intensify on the Baja Boot and the street-legal hypercar, the 1,000-hp SCG 007S. These projects hold promise.
