Avatr, the Chinese automotive partnership involving Changan, CATL, and Huawei, has just unveiled its second electric vehicle, the Avatr 12. This sleek coupe has a unique design, featuring a hatchback at the rear and an intriguing "Halo Display" on the hood. Namely, it's a black panel LED display that allows the car to communicate with people outside.

What makes the Avatr 12 even more fascinating is the choice of powertrains. You can choose between the all-wheel-drive model with a Huawei dual-motor setup that produces a potent 425 kW (578 hp) or the rear-wheel-drive version with a 230 kW (313 horsepower) electric motor.

Both models share a 94.5-kilowatt-hour battery, granting an impressive driving range of 403 to 434 miles. Inside, the Chinese EV boasts an extended dashboard with a futuristic touch—floating elements that give it the appearance of a sleek spaceship, complete with expansive wings between the front doors. A wide-band screen spans the width of the dashboard, acting as a digital window, while the central touchscreen handles all your apps and settings.

Adding to the cool factor, the Avatr 12 includes an electrochromic glass roof, which you can make opaque or transparent with the flick of a switch. There are also cleverly designed invisible air vents and ultra-comfortable zero-gravity seats.

Safety is a top priority with the Avatr 12, featuring an impressive array of 29 sensors, including three Lidar sensors, all tied together by a high-performance central computer. This forms the Huawei Advanced Driving System 2.0 assistance suite, promising enhanced safety and the potential for advanced autonomous driving capabilities. We should say it's an exciting glimpse into the future of electric vehicles and cutting-edge technology!
