Renault Mobilize Surprising With Three New Bespoke EVs

Three new bespoke electric cars will be launched by Renault Group Mobilize in the upcoming years. This is part of the Renaulution strategy of creating a circular program that would support EV uptake.

The Renaulution strategy aims to provide electric means of transport for the urban regions and develop new ways of finance, charging, and subscription schemes.

The sustainable development targets of Mobilize go beyond producing cars. It aims at an ecological transition to flexible and user-oriented solutions.

The first three bespoke models will have nothing in common with the carmaker’s EV production line, and will not be available for private buying. The concepts are meant for open-access, pay-per-use services.

The first one in the Mobilize series is the two-seat Duo. We have seen it in the EZ1-Prototype earlier this year. 50% of the car will be made of recycled materials. This model is meant for urban car-sharing services. It is supposed that the car will have a 62 miles-autonomy.

Duo will also be available in the one-seat version. Called Bento, this car will have a 1.000-liter load capacity and will be used for delivery services.

Next in line is the Hippo model – an easy, user-friendly, fully electric car. It will feature various quick-change storage compartments that will enable the car to be used in various manners. The capacity load will reach 3.000 liters.

Mobilize won’t stop with launching its series and will focus on improving the electric eco-system and electricity storage facilities. Thus, it got involved in Smart Island – a system on the French island Ile d’Yeu that encourages driving EVs and launching new charging solutions.

Mobilize has also teamed up with German company Batteries. The goal is to create a new energy storage system based on used EV battery packs. The units carry a maximum capacity of 9.2 kWh, which is supposedly enough for powering an average household per day.
