The new Megane E-Tech Electric teased during the 2021 Renault Talk event, shows the automaker’s intention to embrace in the future the connected and full-electric cars.  Though it’s scheduled to be launched next year, the tease is more than welcomed by enthusiasts. Now it’s confirmed that 2022 Renault will be a crossover featuring the new company’s logo. From what we know the new logo was jointly developed with Landor & Fitch and will be put on the entire automaker’s lineup by 2024.

The teaser revealed that the crossover’s interior will have high-tech onboard systems and top-of-the-line screens to make an exceptional interior. Megan’s all-new digital instrument cluster will flow into a large infotainment system positioned in portrait orientation. It also features a beautiful floating center console and a ‘chin’ that houses a wireless smartphone charger. It also includes toggle switches, wood trim, and contrast stitching.

From the revealed specifics, about the Megane eVision concept, we know that Renault builds it on a CMF-EV platform and will keep under the hood a 60-kWh battery pack. The eVision’s electric motor could deliver 215 horsepower and 300 Newton-meters of torque, allowing the crossover to reach a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in less than 8 seconds.

The Megane E-Tech Electric is part of the company’s “Nouvelle Vague (New Wave)” plan. This project must focus on the automaker’s main goal to become a company that relies mostly on technology, services, and clean energy. Renault, just like many other companies wants to become a  green brand, but he aims at the European market for now.

Their plan is to have 9 out of 10 its sold vehicles sold by 2030 to be electrified. The company also aims to have the highest percentage of recycled materials in new vehicles by 2030. For now, the plan is for at least seven electrified models to be released in C and D segments by 2025. We wish you good luck and many more follow their path.
