A prototype Taycan set a new electric production vehicle lap record at the Nürburgring earlier this year, and now Porsche has unveiled the finished production version, the Taycan Turbo GT. An additional lap record was set at the race, which was held at Laguna Seca in Monterey, California.

Thanks to a slew of aerodynamic and chassis modifications, the newest, most rapid electric vehicle from Porsche can generate up to 1,092 horsepower. By swapping out the back seats for a carbon fiber bulkhead, the weight-reduction-enhancing Weissach package helps keep things modest.

Similar to the Taycan Turbo S, but with an improved version of the dual-motor drivetrain, this is the Taycan Turbo GT. A new rear electric motor that uses a "more powerful and efficient pulse inverter" with silicon carbide as its semiconductor material is one of the upgrades. The gearbox also has improved durability and transmission ratio.

We end up with a total of 777 horsepower. Turning on launch control increases the power to 1,019 hp, and for two seconds it reaches its maximum of 1,092 hp. Meanwhile, the torque reaches 988 lb-ft. According to these numbers, the Taycan Turbo GT is Porsche's most potent series-production vehicle to date!

The new 2025 Taycan Turbo GT can reportedly reach 0–60 mph in 2.2 seconds, or 2.1 seconds with the optional Weissach package, according to Porsche. The sprint from 0 to 124 mph takes 6.6 or 6.4 seconds, respectively, and the peak speed is 190 mph. In addition, the Attack Mode, which takes its cues from Formula E racers and grants access to an additional 160 horsepower of power for a duration of 10 seconds, is worth mentioning. When you add the underbody air deflectors to the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package, you get a total downforce of 485 lbs.

A rear diffuser with a similar treatment, an adaptive rear spoiler with a Gurney flap, and a large splitter with integrated aeroblades are the most noticeable visual features from an aesthetic standpoint. With the addition of the new Pale Blue Metallic and Purple Sky Metallic, the vehicle is now available in six hues. Owners may take it to the next level of personalization with decals or the optional paint-to-sample program from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.

The most noticeable upgrade is the new set of wheels—21 inches of lightweight forged wheels with more grippy rubber. Wheel spokes are designed to save weight and improve the cooling of Porsche's improved ceramic brakes. This upgraded braking system is paired with a Turbo GT-exclusive calibration for the regular Porsche Active Ride suspension.

The 18-way adjustable Adaptive Sports Seats and the GT Sport steering wheel were upholstered in black leather and Race-Tex, respectively, inside the vehicle. The Turbo GT symbol can identify both the headrests and the center console. You have the choice to embellish the dark-themed interior with Volt Blue or GT Silver contrasting tones, as well as numerous hues for the contrasting stitching.

Remove the back seats, analogue clock, floor and trunk mats, and insulating material to enhance weight reduction with the Weissach package, which is for extreme enthusiasts. Also, the Porsche chooses a lighter trunk material and one charging port on the passenger side that is activated manually. The Sound Package Plus also forgoes Bose Surround Sound in lieu of heat- and soundproof glass. By taking these steps, the Taycan Turbo GT can be up to 157 pounds lighter than the Taycan Turbo S, which improves its power-to-weight ratio.

At Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca, the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package set a lap time of 1:27.87 and was proclaimed the "fastest electric series-production car" by Porsche. On February 23, 2024, with Porsche development driver Lars Kern at the wheel, this record-setting run took place.

The same driver set an impressive lap time of 7:07.55 in January 2024 at the Nürburgring, making the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT pre-production prototype the fastest four-door of any powertrain type. With a time that is 18 seconds faster than the Tesla Model S Plaid, 26 seconds faster than the Taycan Turbo S, and 2.25 seconds slower than the Rimac Nevera hypercar, this is an astonishing achievement.

In the summer of 2024, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT deliveries are expected to start. The base price is $230,000 plus applicable taxes, title, registration, dealer fees, and the $1,995 delivery charge. This is without a doubt the priciest Taycan model available.
