Real Life Transformer - Kormoran

The Austrian company Kormoran has created an on-water vehicle that can transform from a monohull into a catamaran, a trimaran, and even hydrofoil.

The vessel bears the same name as the company, Kormoran, and thanks to a pair of hydraulic hulls it becomes a high tech ship that brings the benefits of several water ships, all wrapped in one unique item.

A monohull is easily reached when the hydraulic arms are electronically activated and drawn into the interior of the ship. When they are partially retracted, you get a catamaran floating on water. The Kormoran becomes a trimaran when the arms are completely spread and the body of the ship sinks partially into the water.

The inside outset of underwater wings of this watercraft helps the ship move on the water by pushing the body in the necessary direction.

The Kormoran is powered by a triple jet engine, producing 493 hp, able to reach up to 70 km/h, depending on the form it takes.

The Kormoran is pretty comfortable inside and ensures two seats for passengers placed in the back of the driver. This "ship" can be accessed through a posterior door. Another shape that Kormoran can have is a swimming platform when it is anchored.

The innovative design of the ship is enriched with advanced materials, including carbon fiber and stainless steel. The interior has plenty of leather details and wooden features. The estimative price such a gem is approximately 10 million dollars, being directed towards the rich yacht owners' marketplace.
