Range Rover SV Black Debuts as a $238,900 Ultra-Luxury Flagship

Land Rover has taken the most high-end version of the Range Rover and given it a new personality - one that probably lives somewhere between stealth mode and red-carpet drama. It’s the Range Rover SV Black, and Land Rover has now set an official price on it: $238,900 before you get to options. It’s a bit above the early estimates, but you don’t get this level of exclusivity at discount prices.
The Range Rover SV Black starts as the already-luxurious SV trim level, but it replaces the regular bronze and bright accents with a straight-up blackout. The exterior paint color, Narvik Black, covers nearly every outside surface, and the wheels - either 22s or 23s, depending on your choice - continue the theme.

Step inside and you find that the mood hasn’t shifted a bit. Black reigns supreme within, and only black birch trim breaks up the monotony in a minimal fashion. There are all the usual SV flourishes here, including the Body and Soul rear seats and the audio-responsive sensory floor that gives the music you’re jamming to a physical dimension.
Nothing has been changed under the hood - in fact, the SV Black keeps the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 607 hp and 553 lb-ft on tap to bash this beast to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. It’s fast enough to keep pace with sporty SUVs, but more importantly, it feels twice as refined.

Of course, buyers who want to take things even further can start ticking option boxes. U.S. customers can add powered side steps, a towing bundle with Advanced Tow Assist, or a cold-weather package with a heated windshield. Choose everything, and you’ll easily crest the quarter-million-dollar mark.
But wait, this isn’t the only dark-themed model in Land Rover’s showroom. The brand has also released blackout versions of the Range Rover Sport and the Defender Octa, giving customers a range of “murdered-out” personalities to choose from.
