Ram Could Be Building A New 1500 TRX Right Now

The Ram 1500 TRX might be making a comeback sooner than expected. According to YouTuber Butter Da Insider, pre-production trucks are already rolling down the assembly line, based on plant leaks and dealer communications. While Ram Trucks has not officially confirmed timing, internal chatter points to a late summer retail launch.
The brand has already teased that a more powerful TRX is on the way, clearly aiming back at the Ford F-150 Raptor R. If that is true, Ram is not just bringing the TRX back for nostalgia.

It wants to reclaim the top spot in the off-road performance truck world. Since the TRX left production, there has been a noticeable gap in the segment, and demand for its return has only grown.
Dealers are expected to receive allocation details for the 2027 TRX in May. Reports suggest allocations will be tied to light-duty Ram 1500 sales between February and April. In simple terms, the more regular 1500s a dealer sells, the more TRX units they are likely to receive. One example floating around mentions a 1-to-50 ratio, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

An internal production calendar reportedly lists August 3 as the first official build date, though some dealer communications suggest July could be the real start. Either way, late summer seems like the most realistic window for trucks to reach customers.

This return also lines up with broader pressure inside Stellantis. Dealers have been told to push for stronger sales growth after a few rough years. Halo models like the TRX play a big role in that strategy. It is not meant to be a volume seller. It is there to draw attention, bring people into showrooms, and remind everyone what Ram is capable of.

Interestingly, Ram’s CEO has previously said the TRX was never meant to be a daily driver because of its extreme power. That kind of attitude almost adds to the appeal. The TRX has always been about excess, noise, and presence. If it really is coming back with even more power, it will be a statement all over again.
