Powered By Electric Batteries, New Peugeot 308 Hatchback And Wagon Can Go Over 250 Miles

New to the Peugeot 308 lineup are an all-electric hatchback and a station wagon that will be available in 2023. Both models have a high-voltage battery with 54 kWh that is made of 80% nickel, 10% manganese, and 10% cobalt.

Peugeot claims that its two models, with their 400-volt systems, would be able to go over 248 miles on a single charge, though the company has not yet released official range numbers. One of Peugeot's primary goals in creating these two vehicles was to optimize their aerodynamic performance.

As a result, a new set of 18-inch aluminum wheels were developed, and the front end and underbody have both been improved. Both all-electric Peugeot 308 models have an 11 kW on-board three-phase charger as standard equipment, and when connected to a 100 kW charger, they can be charged from 20% to 80% in under 25 minutes.

An electric engine with 156 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque spins the wheels. The driving modes available to drivers are Eco, Normal, Sport, and Brake, with Brake increasing the amount of brake regeneration.

The inside is outfitted with the newest edition of the Peugeot i-Cockpit, which includes a compact, three-dimensional digital Head-Up Display, a 10-inch touchscreen, and a heated steering wheel. The French carmaker has not disclosed pricing or availability information for its new Peugeot 308 models.
