Porsche Develops The Taycan NFT, A Car Based On Digital Art

Porsche is well-known for its superb sports cars all over the world, but it has also established a reputation for itself in the art world. Nigel Sense, a contemporary artist, was hired by Porsche in Australia to design this unique livery. A connection to the world of blockchain and non-fungible tokens is also present (NFTs).

This new project is part of the 70th-anniversary festivities of Porsche in Australia. Photographs of the electric art automobile will be used to generate 3 unique multimedia images. Fanzone.io, a German NFT collectibles company, will collaborate with SuperRare.com, a digital art marketplace, to convert these 3 samples into NFTs.

The NFTs were created "in a carbon-neutral way by offsetting them via the Porsche Impact program," as this is an electric vehicle. The earnings from these tokens will be given to the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, which will be used appropriately. Porsche has added sounds that correspond to the hues and vibrancy of the Taycan to the NFTs, so buyers will get more than just a digital image. Porsche commissioned Gene Shill to write an original piece of music to accompany the NFTs.

Shill is a master at composing music out of engine sounds, therefore "all harmonic and rhythmic aspects of the music" are derived from a single Taycan power unit sound. This NFT project is designed to be a "reflection of natural and modern Australia, integrating heritage with the future," according to Porsche.
