The 993 Speedster Remastered, a roofless variant of Gunther Werks' retro-inspired take on the last air-cooled 911, has made its public premiere in California.

The vehicle was unveiled at The Quail during Monterey Car Week, and it comes in a ‘Cannes green' exterior paint scheme with orange inside leather.

The Porsche 993 Speedster Remastered is powered by a 4.0-liter flat-six engine that generates 435 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque and was restored by Rothsport Racing in Oregon. The model also includes an adjustable suspension system with three modes: Composed, Sport, and Sport Plus.

The open cockpit is supported by a strengthened 993-generation 911 chassis, which the company claims has been greatly enhanced owing to increased strengthening, a redesigned roll cage, and roll hoop stiffness. The US company has likewise prioritized weight reduction, as seen by a bonnet that is 25% lighter than the comparable coupé model's.

For enhanced aerodynamics, the car gets a redesigned front fascia with a carbon fiber front spoiler, a reworked duck-tail spoiler, and a ram air scoop. The dash panel, steering wheel, and seats are composed of carbon fiber, while the windscreen and side windows are composed of glass taken straight from the Porsche 964 Speedster collection.

Customers may choose from a variety of forged Gunther Werks wheel choices, as well as updated Fuchs-style five-spoke wheels with Porsche 997 center-locking mechanisms, Dymag carbon fiber barrels, and Gunther Werks-produced magnesium centers to enhance strength while lowering unsprung mass.

Only 25 vehicles will be produced, matching the production run of the firm's coupé cars. Prices have yet to be announced, but construction is expected to begin in early 2022, according to the company.
