Porsche Will Let You Drift A 911 GT3 For $1,500

Want to throw a Porsche 911 GT3 sideways without risking your own six-figure supercar? Porsche has a plan. In 2027, its Track Experience program will offer a half-day drifting course for $1,500. That’s still a pricey afternoon, but it beats crashing your own $240,000 GT3 while learning how to control a slide.
The new GT Drift course takes place at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. It starts with a short classroom session before drivers hit the skid pad to learn trail braking, car rotation, and drifting.

Every car used is a 911 GT3, so participants get to explore the limits of a proper Porsche sports car with professional instructors on hand. The idea is to learn how to start a slide - and, more importantly, how to catch it before things get messy.
There’s also a much bigger option for drivers who want to take things further. The three-day Masters GT program costs $23,000 and is open only to graduates of Porsche’s Masters RS course. Day one focuses on advanced car control at the Barber Proving Grounds, while the next two days bring track sessions, personal coaching, and detailed reviews of driving data.

Porsche says these new courses are a first for its Track Experience program, which has never before focused an entire training course on one model. The existing options include one-day Precision training and longer Performance and Masters courses, with prices varying between Barber and Laguna Seca.
Of course, $1,500 for half a day behind the wheel isn’t exactly pocket change. But if you’ve ever wanted to learn how to drift a GT3 without sweating over repair bills, this might be the smarter way to do it. Just try not to get too attached to going sideways.
